Celebrations as Israelis and Palestinians are released as part of ceasefire deal

Footage shows the emotional moment families were reunited after all 20 remaining living hostages in Gaza were released as part of the Hamas-Israel ceasefire deal. Their release came in exchange for nearly 2,000 prisoners and detainees – including around 1,700 people seized in Gaza and held without charge – set free from Israeli jails. The exchange is due to be followed by the handover of 28 dead Israeli hostages. In total, 88 Palestinians were released in the West Bank, while the rest were sent to Gaza. Several families who had been told by the Israeli security services that their family members were coming home were surprised to see that their loved ones were not on the buses on Monday. Prisoners told families that more than a dozen detainees had been taken on Sunday night from the main group so that they could be deported to Gaza.
