Trump says US will send Patriot missiles to Ukraine, threatens new tariffs on Russia

US President Donald Trump has announced a new weapons plan for Ukraine and threatened further “severe” sanctions on Russia if no peace deal is reached in the next 50 days. It's a dramatic U-turn on US policy. Earlier this month, the Pentagon announced it was pausing weapons shipments to Ukraine. But Trump is increasingly frustrated with the Russian President and hopes the weapons will help bring a swift end to Russia's invasion.
