'Situation in Gaza rapidly deteriorating day by day': Medical Aid for Palestinians

يوليو 1, 2025 - 11:45
Palestinians in Gaza are being forced to chose between starvation or gunfire at controversial distribution centres described as “death traps” by the UN and more than a hundred NGOs. The groups, including Oxfam, say the dangerous scheme - run by the US and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation - must end immediately. The joint statement says 400 UN aid points have been replaced by just 4 military-controlled sites - forcing more than two million people into overcrowded, militarised zones where they face daily gunfire. More than 580 people have been killed and thousands injured in attacks since the sites began operating in May. Mai Elawawda is the communications officer at Medical Aid for Palestinians in Gaza. She says the situation in Gaza is rapidly deteriorating day by day.
