Israeli airstrikes killed 41 Palestinians across Gaza on Wednesday. In a separate overnight attack, rescuers recovered the emaciated body of 10-year-old Fadi from a Gaza City residential building hit without warning.
His cousin Amr, cradling the dust-covered corpse, cries, "He was just an innocent boy" as relatives reveal most victims were sleeping women and children.
The obliterated building stands as grim evidence of what Palestinians call Israel's deliberate targeting of civilians, with shrouded bodies now lining al-Shifa Hospital's courtyard.
Each blue-marked body bag - including little Fadi, whose name means "saviour" - receives rushed funeral rites from traumatised survivors.
As women wail over the dead, the displaced mother recalls the strike hitting "without warning", burying families mid-sleep.
The scene epitomises Gaza's endless cycle of indiscriminate attacks, rushed burials and unbearable grief under Israel's bombardment.
