Gaza’s Starvation Crisis: Families Walking Miles for Food

The humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached a breaking point. According to the World Food Programme, one in three people in Gaza is going days without food. Since March, following Israel’s reimposed blockade, at least 115 people have reportedly died from starvation. Reporter Tarek Abouazoum brings live updates from Deir al-Balah, where families are risking everything just to find basic food supplies. Women are walking over 20 kilometers for flour, while malnutrition is spreading rapidly—especially among children under five, the elderly, and pregnant women. Aid remains restricted under a tightly controlled mechanism led by the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, which has been widely criticized for failing to meet the needs of the population.
