As Vietnam marks 50 years since the end of the war, the country is still grappling with a deadly legacy. Tens of thousands have been killed by unexploded munitions scattered across the landscape. Until January, the United States had been helping to fund demining efforts, but with the suspension of State Department projects and the dismantling of US AID programs, many of these life-saving operations face uncertainty.
