Ecuador ex-VP Jorge Glas sentenced to 13 more years for embezzling public funds
A court in Ecuador has sentenced former Vice-President Jorge Glas to 13 years in prison for misusing public funds allocated to rebuild areas affected by the devastating 2016 earthquake.
Glas is currently serving prison time for two prior corruption convictions and had been due for release in just under three years.
But Monday's sentence extends his imprisonment until 2041.
