Tuesday night’s attack exposed the frailties of a ceasefire that from the outset had been marred by violence. Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the strikes after a firefight between militants in Gaza and Israeli troops, amid anger over Hamas handing over body parts of a hostage whose remains Israeli troops had already recovered two years before.
