Peru's president has declared a 30-day state of emergency in the capital Lima, aimed at curbing rising crime. Jose Jeri made the announcement in a televised address. It follows protests last week that left one person dead and more than 100 injured. A wave of demonstrations against corruption and crime, led to the ousting of Jeri's predecessor Dina Boluarte, earlier this month. Al Jazeera's Mariana Sanchez has the latest updates from Lima, Peru.
